The weather hasn't been particularly kind in the last few months, but the Easy Riders have been out and about in varying numbers and weather conditions.
On the 17th January a return visit to The Onley at Stisted saw the Easy Riders served with toasted teacakes and marmalade - very welcomed hot food. Overall 21 miles covered by the longer ride and 19 by the shorter. Can you tell what Steve is looking at intently?
The forecast for the 24th January was wet and windy...ideal cycling conditions for some of the Easy Riders....Gifford reports the following: -
"Seven intrepid chaps turned up for a ride today. Braving the winds that storm Georgina could blow at us we went for a short ride. Stopping off at the Castle in Great Leighs for coffee and cakes we circulated back again to Rayne Station. We were greeted back at Braintree with a down pour. Mick, what a difference from your good weather!!"
The first 40 miler of 2018. Gifford had devised the route and we were off to a little coffee stop in Assington Suffolk. Luckily Gifford planned the route to avoid the main hills, but even so there were a few to contend with. The weather was very kind to us, with some beautiful sunshine in the early afternoon affording some spectacular views over the stunning countryside - deers and hares both seen running across the fields. A quick stop in Sudbury for a photo outside an aptly named pub before we cycled off the remaining miles. Overall around 42 miles and only one puncture (the ride leader who is now moving to Marathon tyres). Thanks Gifford for a great ride.
