Spring has arrived maybe?
25 riders set out from Braintree on a very springlike morning. We headed out towards Stisted where the group would split up. We followed Peter Short across the outskirts of Braintree. I do not know whether because it is Cheltenham week or not but Peter fell at the first barrier, fortunately he did not break anything so we didn't have to shoot him. (Ed - please note we don't normally shoot our members!)
The group split up as scheduled, longer route led by Mick and the shorter route led by Peter. We went out via Stisted nearly touching a lot of other villages eventually arriving at Earls Colne and Olivers nursery cafe. Very good venue.
We left the cafe via Earls Colne Airfield heading back toward Stisted and eventually Braintree. During the route home we ploughed through many flooded roads. The old group shout was heard along the line WOT NO MUDGUARDS. when many promises were made about buying some tomorrow!!!!
We covered about 24 miles. Thanks to Mick and Peter Mave and Peter for an excellent ride.
