Burnham Deepdale Weekend

What a gorgeous weekend of cycling. The weather was beautiful and the Norfolk countryside was lovely. However, whoever said Norfolk was flat didn't do the rides we did. Two rides were on offer on Saturday - a 25 miler and a 45 miler - riders choose whichever one they were most comfortable with. Both rides went off without a hitch and both visited Holkham Hall in some shape or form. The longer ride followed the northern coast going out east to Wells and then back via Walsingham. Thanks to both Paul and Mick respectively for leading their riders.

Evening entertainment was formally provided by Karen and Julie in the form of presentations to individuals. I won the one for "not being at the church on time". Alan provided the informal entertainment with his whistling helmet. Peter and Sue cooked an amazing BBQ for us all - perfectly cooked.

On Sunday riders had the option to take a ramble led by Paul or come on a short 33 miler out to Hunstanton and down to the windmill at Great Bircham. Only one puncture the whole weekend....good going team.

A big thank you to Mave and Karen for organising the weekend; for Peter and Sue for cooking; to the ride leaders for leading; and finally to everyone for coming along and joining in. It really was an excellent 2 days.
