44 miles later

Friday, April 28, 2017

For this month's 40 miler Mick took us to the Hanging Gardens Nursey Tea Room. 17 riders turned out (a couple new to this distance) and with Mick at the front and Compo at the back we set off.

Out via Litney Green, Pleshey, High Easter, Good Easter and through to Willingale. From there we went through Cocksmill and Newey Green and on to Writtle with the tea room just off the A414. Great route with hardly any traffic and nice cycling weather. 28 miles out we certainly needed that coffee and cake.

A shorter route back was required to keep the '40' mile tag (give or take 10%). Off back through Writtle, Broomfield and out of Chelmsford via Channels (Those new houses are going up quick!). Back now to familiar landmarks of the Leigh's and home via Ranks Green and Great Notley.

All in 44 miles - well done all especially Julie and Peter on personal bests for the distance 👍
