It's official BER cyclists love the sun
The forecast for today was looking good - no rain and some warmth up to 9C was predicted - positively barmy.
We turned out in force with 31 riders (one new rider - welcome Andy) ready to head towards Finchingfield in what ever way Mick had devised. Despite the heat (I use the word with caution), there was still a distinct lack of shorts with only 3 or 4 prepared to brave the elements (or they just lack feeling!)
Just past Rayne we split in to our two respective routes, however the longer ride had to split again as there were so many - must be the change in weather that energised everyone. We headed out to Great Saling, through Great Bardfield and on to Finchingfield in beautiful sunshine - the collection of coffee houses did a roaring trade and it was lovely to be able to sit out side in the fresh air.
Thanks everyone for posing for the picture.
A much more direct route back although starting up the hill in Finchingfield was a challenge, then on to Weathersfield, Shalford and through to Panfield and home.
Great route (thanks Mick and Steve), lovely weather and company - just over 23 miles done.
