

Damp, Cold and Misty 25/01/2023
T his was a deceptively cold day – the mist lingered, and light levels were low. We had a new rider join us – Malcolm Clapp – one of Ann’s walking friends. Welcome Malcolm! He’s extremely tall, with very long legs – as shown in the photos. He chose to ride with the long group, 0930 start, led by Tim B and Andy C. There were plenty of Easy Riders ready to ride at Weavers Park. The Long Group, led by Tim and Ian, set off to Dunmow; the Medium led by Peter Skirrow and Peter Milner; and the Short was led by Bill T and Lawrence. The medium group split into two, as there were 15 of us. We headed out up Bocking Church Street and made our way across to Lyons Hall Road, before reaching Plaistow Green. Happy New Year for 2023! 04/01/2023
I’ll start with a non-riding feel-good story to set us off on the right foot. On NYE, Andy P and his sons opened their back door to watch the fireworks, and a tiny Yorkshire Terrier shot out of their back garden and hurled herself at them. No collar, no tag. She was terrified of the fireworks. Being good citizens, they had a wander round the locality to see whether there was a neighbour looking for a dog, but to no avail. ‘Yorkie’ stays the night, and to their dog, Dillon’s
